Craig's latest portfolio update, shot on the beach by photographer Bryan Haynes, looks like an homage to all of those hunky teen idols and high school jocks of bygone eras.

"THE CRYING GAME"

Jay @MatineeModelMgt is on a mission to see the world

Austin Powers might have a little competition for the title of "International Man of Mystery" as long as Jay is traveling around the world. We should blame his folks. Let's see, his father is German/Irish/Scottish and his mother is Spanish/Filipina. They met in the Philippines while his pop was in the Marines, she gave birth to Jay in Hawaii, settled down in the North Carolina countryside, and they both worked for the United Postal Service for years sending things out to distant places!

Well, seriously, with all those cultures courses through his veins, we think he just wanted to get some first-hand experience with diversity by visiting places he'd only heard about from his parents' younger days. So, Jay decided to vacation alone in the Philippines at 18. He enjoyed it so much, he then decided after high school graduation to sell his car and move to Asia without a plan or a care in the world.

He loves listening to Swedish indie rocker Lykke Li, enjoys playing soccer, is presently ranked a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo, and used to bowling with a team called "The Killers." If he wasn't an instant success in modeling, Jay thought he'd pursue political science or psychology. Not exactly what you'd expect but he's full of surprises. After all, his first foray into modeling was just as mysterious.

It goes a little something like ... while in Hong Kong, he made fast friends with an aspiring actor who dragged him along for a television commercial audition for kicks. The director assumed Jay was a trained actor scheduled to audition and demanded that he cry on cue. When Jay did the uxexpected, he was in, the friend was out, and now, he's known throughout Asia as "The Sensitive Guy" for his crying role in a Coke Zero commercial -- a parody of the types of men women like to avoid.

Thankfully, Jay doesn't have a problem attracting attention from designers or photographers as witnessed in the ever-changing gallery of images from runway collections and international men's fashion publications that we use to illustrate his shapeshifting abiliites to clients!. Next up? Possibly Dubai, Paris, India or a return engagement to Asia in the coming week or so. We're weighing options to mark the grandest course for adventure.

Into marathon viewings of Netflix horror films, "Bates Motel" on A&E, nightclubs and laughing for hours with friends at beachside bonfires, Jay loves Southern cooking but will quickly shift gears and settle in for anything remotely resembling Italian or Filipino food, too. At 6-foot-1 and weighing around 130 pounds, even we're not sure where he puts it. That's another mystery!

When our partner agency Cima wanted our creative director at Matinee to take a young lifeguard named Wil at the local YMCA under his wing, it started out with a comedic battle of wills -- no pun intended. The ice broke when our director figured out the reason for the verbal sparring match when he simply asked, "Are you a Scorpio?" With the Zodiac sign in common, it wouldn't be long before Wil got the opportunity to exhbit the intensity, mystery and conviction that Scorpios are known for in his upcoming magazine editorial for FLINT. The raven haired 22-year-old is looking forward to moving his modeling career away from commercials and into the high-fashion stratosphere when college classes end in May. With looks that remind us of Al Pacino's right-hand man in "Scarface," we suggested to the FLINT creative team to bring that movie's Cuban lothario, "Manny Ribera," back to life in print! Wil is 6-foot-2. So, say hello to my not-so-little friend!

"PHYSICAL THERAPY"

It's a safe bet to say our latest discovery, Craig, from Delaware, is extremely sports minded. He's completing his personal trainer certification in a few weeks, spends all of his free time playing football, volleyball, running, swimming, skimboarding, running and working out, and is fairly quick to mention that he's been playing soccer since the age of 3. Now 21, the Delaware native is channeling that adrenaline into an international modeling career with us. Actually, the whole thing started to speedball when his aunt needed a "willing" test subject for her first professional camera purchase a short while back. The portraits slowly crept into his social media and friends began to comment on his dashing good looks as well as his fitness advice. Since Craig is no stranger to competition, he's now channeling all of that adrenaline into an international modeling career. We're sure he'll get a kick out of this, too!

Michelangelo's David?

Michelangelo's David?
The newest addition to Matinee's roster is David Costa, an ultra-fit Latino living in France. David has been turning up on the hottest men's fashion blogs on the Web as well as on the cover and in the editorial contents of online magazine Blake.

From Russia with Love

From Russia with Love
Maybe, it's more appropriate to say "Comrade with Arms" since new model Mikhail hails from Moscow but would much rather talk about the tattoos that adorn his shoulders and biceps. He's already sought out by major agencies in the United States and Europe with barely a solid month in the modeling business.

Wanted Man

Wanted Man
Hugh's All-American good looks ... Blonde hair, green eyes, gym-toned physique usually nabs clients looking for a Brad Pitt lookalike or a college football hero. Look for the Virgina native to appear on upcoming reenactments on "America's Most Wanted" trying help catch a few on the lam felons.

"Suddenly, Sinatra"

"Suddenly, Sinatra"
The boys of Matinee Model Management have always had a fondness for silver screen legends. This time "Ol' Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra was the theme of the latest shoot for Mikhail, Bronson and Jeremy ... with the guys evoking shades of Frank from crooner to film noir private eye.

Caught on Film

Photographer Anton Papich shot Washington Life Magazine's Fall 2008 editorial which featured high-end fashion from Prada, Gucci, Etro and Giorgio Armani ... all worn by Matinee's crowned editorial king.. the Norwegian Overlord fondly nicknamed "Lips" and otherwise known as Erik, who was double-featured in Washington, D.C. fashion pubs this month. Erik's also the main attraction in the current edition of Engaged! Magazine.
